At the top of the page the L12 means Livro 12 or Book 12. Say you were looking for Francisca the daughter of Jose de Medeiros and Thomacia Rosa. Scan down the column till you see their names (the 13th line) on the right side is the number 168 this is the page number in book 12. Book 12 is the book of baptisms for the year 1809-1817. You can find this information by looking at the cover of the books and look for L12. Go to page 168 and Francisca is on the right side at the top. Note the name you are looking for could be on the back of the numbered page so always look at the next image. Bom Sorte

I think it is Espositos. I see the names and what appears to be pages but I don’t find a page that matches. Anyone who has an explanation would help.
