This email your reading is correct. Esmola translates into "Alms" or more current "donation". This photo belongs to Criacao Velha as translated in prior email by Cheri. It must have been issued to raise funds to build one of the lateral altars where the image of our Lady of Lourdes stands. The Patron Saint of Criacao Velha is N. Sra. das Dores as also mentioned by Cheri.
