Matheus da Calh.a, isle of Terceira in presence of me, An.to [????] do Valle [names of other witnesses-- looks like two witnesses were from parish of Se in Angra] Joseph da Rocha f.o de Andre da Rocha e de sua m.er An.ta Josepha n.al desta I.a Igr.a [e nella?] baptisado e desobrig.~ ... e Maria Joaquina f.a de Joao Per.a Ro- [davelho?] ja def.o e de sua m.er Caatharina do Rosario, n.al da mesma Igr.a Par.al Groom: Joseph da Rocha, son of Andre da Rocha and Antonia Josepha, born, baptized, and discharged of his lenten obligations in the Church of Sao Matheus da Calheta Bride: Maria Joaquina, daughter of Joao Pereira [Rodavelho?], deceased, and his wife Catharina do Rosario, native of the same parish church There's mention at the beginning of the record that the marriage was without impediments, but there's a note with the signatures about a dispensation for a [3rd?] degree consanguinity. We may be related. I have Antonio da Rocha Borba (cc Josefa Marianna 1803, S. Barbara) son of (Antonio da Rocha Borba (cc Maria Machado, [prob 1764 S. Barbara, but not yet verified]. This line connects to a Sao Matheus da Calheta family a couple of generations down. Or, maybe we just have relatives with similar names from the same villages. I haven't exhausted this line yet, but have more recently been focused elsewhere on my tree.
