These are not my people, but I found this record interesting for Ribeira Quente in 1864: Left page, 12th line down (it's #9, on the page before).

I don't understand. Cape Verde is over there and Rio de Janeiro is that way. What is the priest saying? I think the rest of the record is typical. Just trying to figure out what happened with husband #1. Thanks!
