Louie, You forgot to post the web site.
Files like that would be done in PDF. Everyone can read a PDF (or get Adobe Reader for free to open it), but not everyone has Microsoft's Excel program. Also, a PDF file cannot be changed or edited for the most part. If I remember correctly though, that marriage file was 2000, 3000, 4000 pages long! It was a huge file. I know I viewed it and was able to search it. I'm a keyboard person, so I probably held the Ctrl key + the F (Control Find - Command + F on a Mac) and typed in whatever name I wanted. Probably in modern Portuguese. So there would be no entries for Mello, since that is the old spelling. I'd have to look under Melo. I haven't looked at that file in a while though and I don't remember the host site that had it. I thought I bookmarked it, but I guess not.
