I had a similar situation come up with my 3x g.grandather Antonio Silveira Costa and his wife Rosa Silveira. They lived in Ribeira Seca, Sao Jorge, but he was actually from Arrifes, Sao Miguel, while she was from Sao Jorge. Turns out that Antonio's father Joao da Costa and his family, and even mother came over from Sao Miguel to Sao Jorge at somepoint, and story was he was an engineer or someone who got a job was helping build a road on Sao Jorge. I was able to find the birth recs on Sao Miguel which was nice. I also found their death recs on Sao Jorge confirming they were from Sao Miguel originally.
