I have had my brother and my eldest living sister take the ftdna family finder test.
My brother, who is my second eldest living sibling came out 87% European, 10% Middle Eastern and 2% African. (No word on the missing 1%). My sister, who is my eldest living sibling came out 91% European, 7% Middle Eastern and 2% Central/South Asian. Ok, the European and the Middle Eastern are close percentages so, no surprise there but; one coming up 2% African and the other 2% Central/South Asian. Interesting…. Would I be correct in assuming that one most likely got the 2% African from one parental line and the other sibling got their 2% Central/South Asian from the other parental line or is there no way to tell? This is such fun to try to figure out! All my life I have said I was 100% Portuguese! Only when I started doing genealogy did I find what a mixture we were. So much more interesting!
