I have been helping Michele with her request. Her 4X great grandfather went from Faial to New Zealand aboard the whaling vessel "Noble" in 1841. The ship returned to New York in 1843. Although we have yet to get a copy of the ships log, Suffolk County Maritime Museum (Long Island Maritime Museum) may have it.
