I would like to update that I ordered my great grandmother Emma's death certificate and it arrived today. I didn't expect to see anything I didn't already know, but her mother's name was NOT listed on that document as Emma. It was "Mary Vargas". Her father was John Enos. I'm sure that back in the Azores, Mary was Maria. I have no idea now how she became Emma, unless she had a middle name that was Emelia/Amelia. I was excited at first because I though that by plugging in her first name Mary, I would now magically get more hints and answers. Sadly, I've had no further luck at finding out any more about my great grandmother Emma's parents.
