Madeira is a different autonomous region than the Azores islands. The Madeira Islands have only 2 islands that are populated and the Azores have 9 islands.
With the DNA, start by working your Family Finder Matches who have 100 cMs or more. You'll have to do a lot of work in the U.S. to find your freguesia over there. There are some good sources for Hawaii though.
