Groom should be born about 1848, but search 1847-1849 first, which it sounds like you did. Possible scenarios: 1) The page that you want with the baptism fell out. Or he wasn't baptized right away after his birth (maybe they had a quarantine or earthquake and people were unable to baptize right after the birth). Solution: Start searching baptisms in January 1874 working your way back. He may have been baptized shortly before his marriage. 2) You are searching every 2 years. Solution: I do every 9 months.
