My husband and I were scheduled to depart on the 4th of Jan (day of the
snow storm), we were unable to make it to the airport so rescheduled for
the next day
(SATA Azores Airlines departed about 1 hour later than regular
schedule!!).
We didn't received any notification that our flight would be delayed -
text, call or email -- when we got to the airport that is when we saw the
flight was delayed to 2AM!!!
Finally everyone was seated in the plane and all ready to go by
1:30AMish....we waited and waited.  We were just told due to 'technical
difficulties'
(what does mean actually?) the flight was cancelled!  3:30AM or so we had
to go to the baggage claim area, wait some more for our bags, claim them
and then...
either wait at the airport, get an hotel room or go home - at our expense
(several families traveling with young children and elderly people don't
know how they can wait at the
airport all this time).  All without knowing if they COULD reschedule.
No other information till 9AM Sat. when the Fall River office opened (they
didn't pick up the phones at 9AM and when they finally did they didn't
naturally have any
answers &/or explanations.
Back again to the airport tonight, rescheduled for 9:30AM departure ON a
different plane!!!
Cross your figures everyone and hope we depart on time and it's a safe
flight!!  oh we so desperately need another airline going to the Azores
from Boston all year long!
