Alvin, You'll find Trinidad spelled in Portuguese as Trindade. I've seen the names you mention, as I research both Ponta Garca and Vila Franca do Campo.
Maximiliam will be listed as a child with "pais incognitos." If you can't find him in Ponta Garca, check Ribeira Quente or Povocao (Mae de Deus) church. There are many that research Ponta Garca on this list and someone will have your branch of Mellos.
