Don't know when your grandfather was born. Sao Miguel island was digitized through 1905. You can access through Tombo.pt. Click the British flag if you need English. On the top on the left column, type Ribeira Grande. Hit search. On the main screen, pick N.S. da Estrela. Good luck, Cheri
