To me, it looks like it says "Polica" after his name. Someone else is going
to have to take a look. Nothing is raised as in an abbreviation.

The maternal mother (all mothers are maternal) is Rosa Maria. Oh wait,
maternal GRANDMOTHER is Francisca da Conceicao.
