I have all the marriages from Ribeirinha from 1836 to 1905 and they are not
there, prior to 1826 Ribeirinha was part of NS Estrela in Ribeira Grande. While
I have many births in Ribeirinha I do not have a Jacinto Pacheco/Moniz in the
1943 time range.

Subject: [AZORES-Genealogy] Looking for Some Help Jumping from Pico to Sao
Miguel

Hello,
I'm looking for some assistance in trying to locate my 2x Great Grandfather's
baptismal record and/or my 3x Great Grandfather's marriage records in
Ribeirinha, Sao Miguel. I have located all of my ancestors in Pico and on my 2x
Great Grandfather's marriage record it shows that he and his parents are from
Ribeirinha, Sao Miguel. I have confirm this information with all five of my 2x
Great Grandfather's children' baptismal records. Below is a link to Jacinto
Pacheco (my 2x Great Grandfather) and Rosa Marianna (my 2x Great Grandmother)
marriage record starting on the lower half of left hand page.

http://culturacores.azores.gov.pt/biblioteca_digital/PIC-LJ-PIEDADE-C-1866-1874/PIC-LJ-PIEDADE-C-1866-1874_item1/P33.html

Based on this marriage record, my 2x Great Grandfather (Jacinto Pacheco) was
married in 1870 and he was 27 years old. This would make the year that he was
born 1843 plus or minus one year. I have looked over the baptismal records from
the start of 1842 through the end of 1844 four times and could not locate my 2x
Great Grandfather's baptismal record.

I figured that it would be easier to search a two year period for a 2x Great
Grandfather's baptismal record than to search a 15-20 year period for my 3x
Great Grandfather's marriage record. I also figured that if I could found my 2x
Great Grandfather's baptismal record, I would know that I have the correct
parish to search for the marriage record of my 3x Great Grandfather and
Grandmother.

I even broke down and went over the marriage records one time from 1836 to end
of 1844. 1836 is the earliest records they have digitized.

Any suggestions or advance would be greatly appreciated.

Ken

P.S. I have also attached my transcription/translation of my 2x Great
Grandfather' marriage record just in case I have made a mistake in my
transcription/translation.
