I was going to suggest Furnas, then Maia and Fenais da Ajuda because that 
is where there are a lot people by those names. But it does state he was 
born in Santa Ana, which is located in Furnas. Furnas is part of the 
Concelho of Povoacao, but the records of the time were all kept in Furnas 
if they more recent,and in Maia, if they are older.
