The American Portuguese Genealogical and Historical Society (APGHS)
published the work of the Amarals (Gil and Pat, I think), who walked the
St. John's Cemetery in New Bedford, Massachusetts and recorded the
tombstones. For those who don't know, St. John the Baptist Church was the
first Portuguese Catholic Church in the United States (it has since
closed). The cemetery associated with this church has many Portuguese
people.

Ernest Cardoza was the last president of the APGHS before they closed shop.
He kept the remaining books in his attic. He has found 3 boxes and only
opened one. It had 12 books in it. He does not know how many books are in
the remaining boxes.

If you would like a book, it's $30 and includes postage. Even though the
APGHS no longer is in business, he kept their account open. So make a check
for $30 to the APGHS and mail to:
