Repost for Celito Medeiros, celitofmedeiros at gmail.com

I'm just curious about the Medeiros Family History. I was a friend of José
Antonio Gonçalves, from Madeira Island, recently deceased journalist, whose
portrait I painted and was invited to exhibitions and TV program of his
professional line. I was in the places of Portugal where this genealogical
tree begins with Rui Gonçalves de Medeiros (1383), this Family Medeiros is
natural of the place of Medeiros, in the parish of Vila Chã, in the
Municipality of Montalegre, district of Vila Real, province of Trás-
os-Montes between Chaves and Braga, 16 km from the border with Spain, on
the edge of the Barroso mountains, the province is called
'behind-the-hills' in the far north of the Portuguese mainland. The parish
comprises: Castanheira, Firvidas, Gralhos, Medeiros, Peirezes, Penedones,
São Vicente, Travassos de Chã and Trogueda. He took over the mayor of Évora.

1420-1450 - James Guill lists the names of several heads of families in the
Madeira archipelago, among which is Rui Vaz de Medeiros. Rui Vaz de
Medeiros, who lived in the time of Captain Rui Gonçalves de Medeiros, was a
native of Ponte de Lima, Guimarães region, Portugal, fled his father's
house and went first to Madeira during the first colonization, where he
married D. Ana (or Mecia) Gonçalves de Mendonça, a daughter of a noble
citizen, named Jorge de Mendonça. It had sesmaria in Tabua and left
generation in this parish Ponta do Sol and Funchal, with good connections
of blood. He then moved with his family to the Azores, having settled on
the island of São Miguel.

My ancestors arriving in BRAZIL.

* 1753-Date of the birth of Manoel Jorge de Medeiros, native of Faial

Jorge Ferreira. Manoel Jorge de Medeiros emigrated to Brazil where he
formed a family in the south of Minas Gerais, creating the Medeiros Branch,
in the city of Passos, Minas Gerais. Then some went to the North and others
to the South of Brazil in the States of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do
Sul, then to Paraná.

General João Nepomuceno de Medeiros Mallet, was born in Bagé, Rio Grande do
Sul on May 16, 1840 - died in Rio de Janeiro, December 12, 1907). He was
Governor of Mato Grosso and Ceará. Minister of War of Brazil

1898-1902.

General Octavio Aguiar de Medeiros was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1922, from
the new immigration and died in Brasília, September 5, 2005. He was a
general of the Brazilian Army and SNI's Chief of the Brazilian General
Figueiredo's Presidency.

Noé Nunes de Medeiros, was born in 1927, was a politician and farmer of the
Agribusiness, in the Municipality of S. Miguel do Iguaçu (due to the origin
in the Island of S. Miguel, in the Azores), died in an accident in the Farm
in 1971 with only 44 years, I am your son Celito Freitas de Medeiros, of
this life (1951), with connections of the history of the immigrants to the
USA of 1926, as I already mentioned (reality or fiction?). In addition, in
addition to books in Brazil, there is a trilingual (Portuguese - English -
