Ok, I don’t think you are given a choice on the relationship, you just link to your tree and the tree gives the relationship. Did you try dragging the name in the box to the name that matches in your tree?
Is this your tree? As a project admin I only have limited access to it and cannot see a problem from my end. I have entered a person on the tree then on the list of matches it does not show the relationship. This has happened on several cousins. I have even tried deleting the person and reentering the lineage and the person. Even with that method it does not work. Also you must be careful because if you have other cousin related to you through this line you may have just deleted that connection. It is not very user friendly. On cousin that are related to me several difference ways I have resorted to entering just the closest connection. Even this this method it still does not show some of the relationships on the match list page. Look in the box on the left side and find your 5th cousin’s name. Then go into the tree and find your 5th cousin and put it in view next to the box, Then drag your cousin’s name from the box and put in on his name in the tree. That should then show your 5th cousin as a match. You can delete the existing tree or just let the new tree override the old one. (I just let the new one override the old one). The viewing of the tree is only 4 generations. So you search for the person. In the attached screen shot, I searched for Maria de Jesus. If you've entered birth dates, they appear. If not, you'll have to click on each one of your Maria's to see who she is married to in order to find the correct one.
