Cheri, Thank you so much for a quick response. I've used my time to count back from his obit death date to search for a Baptism for José Inácio da Silveira.
There are a number of years missing in the church records published on the official government web site or tombo.pt for Sao Jorge, Velas, Rosais. For example, in the published index: Baptismos 1766-1782 is listed and the next set published is Baptismos beginning with 1784-1800. These are missing years are crucial in my search for this baptism. I’ve also come across years missing within a published set, for instance, Marriages 1798-1826 is missing the years 1810-1813. I have found some work-arounds , but is there any chance of getting those records exist or are they gone forever?
