The vast majority of this list speaks only English and many of us did learn
how to "read" the Portuguese records. More like bumble our way through, but
many have learned how and are successful and now help others. Many prefer
researching though Tombo.pt, as it's much easier to navigate than the CCA
itself.

Passaportes leaving from Faial begin in 1836. Your information is 2 years
early.

Some researchers may not take your case, as some may feel you do not have
enough information. Maybe someone will try with your information and you
may pay them for their research time and they still may not turn up
