Hello! It has been a family mystery why my 3rd Great Grandmother's parents were. We knew she was "adopted" because her parents were not married. It was our understanding that she was raised by her father's side of the family. I will be visiting the Azores this summer. I don't read or write Portuguese. Do you have any advice as to how I might track down more clues? I've been told that some of the churches still remember certain families from long ago...
