Rene, If you have ancestors on Pico &/or Faial you can also go here: http://ghp.ics.uminho.pt <http://www.ghp.ics.uminho.pt/> and click on genealogy and you can search by your village or if you have lines in Sao Jorge you can go to saojorgegenealogy.org and get lots of info: indexes, books, military records etc. .
