Hi Bill, >From Porto Judeu, my maternal grandfather's ancestors had the last name Lima (and when they came to America, some became Lemos/Lemas). My maternal grandfather's mother, Leonore Toste Freitas (Lima), was born in Brazil, after the family moved there from Terceira, but they returned and I belive she lived in Sao Bento.
My maternal grandmother's side was from Ribeirinha: Emilia Alves Cardosa Toste. I have a lot on the Alves side, but not the Cardoso Toste. My father's side was from Terra Cha, but a small family, and not many descendants. They were Coelho de Melo Avila (going back to Altatres) and Sousa de Ferreira. Also Corvelo Martins. Of the the surnames you listed, I think Rocha is the only one I recognize from my tree.
