Legacy Family Tree has a tree trial version. Go to www.legacyfamilytree.com and download their free edition and play around with it. RootsMagic has a free trial version called Essentials. Go to www.rootsmagic.com/essentials and download it and play around with it. Both are having holiday sales, so buy the one that grabs you. Family Tree Maker does NOT have a free version. You can look at the web site though: https://www.mackiev.com/ftm/ I believe those are the 3 most popular for Windows at this time.
