I too was pointed toward Duolingo from someone who used it. I REALLY like it.
It is structured in a way that works well with the way my brain works. Having
said that, it's Brazilian Portuguese, which has caused me to stop and look for
a European Portuguese alternative.
When I searched for ancestors, I found friends!

have lessons (learning modules) consisting of listening, writing, fill in the
blank, pick the picture, etc. They also have podcasts and little video episodes.
