Elaine, Myself and Celeste have researched mainland Portugal. Many of the records are now online now even some passportes records and Joao Ventura from Portugal (not the Azores one) is still adding to them. You will need area of Lisboa he/she came from same as Azores research. I did personally go to the archives in Lisbon a couple of times quite a few years ago. I did manage to meet my large family still living in Lisboa and hosted a family reunion at our hotel twice andstill keep in contact with them. I don’t think there is a Portugal list anymore but others on this list might be able to reach out to you to help. Check out tombo.pt website.
