i fully agree. much of his statements about akkadian and proto-semitic
apply to BH too, but it is exactly there where he prefers to draw 
his imaginary line. i quote:

1. "Akkadian" is a reconstructed language for which we have no means  
of independently appraising the veracity of the claims made about it...  

2. "proto-semitic" is a polite way of saying long, long ago.

isaac probably believes that hebrew was abraham's mother tongue.
