Dear Karl,

The Oxford Annotated Bible: Revised Standard Version: College Edition, page 159,
has a note referencing I Samuel 15. That would be the LORD's command to Saul to
utterly destroy the Amalekites, i.e. the Amalekites are NOT to be ransomed. The
verse is I Samuel 15:3.
