Rabbinic Judaism of the 1st century CE believed that Moses was given both
Oral and Written Torah. To be authentic, the Oral Torah had to be
transmitted orally. While it is easy to see how a Written Torah could be
transmitted from generation to generation; how did the Oral Torah survive
apostasy, Babylonian exile and Hellenistic hegemony?
