Petr,

A little history: b-hebrew has had a lot of flame wars through the years. What
we found was that anonymous posting allows people to hide from their
responsibility to honor our rules and encourages disrespectful discourse. The
posting of full names makes for a much more pleasant forum. As for the NSA and
that ilk, they've got you any time they want you, names on posts or not. :-(

Petr,

You'll have to take my word that I'm not working for the NSA, FBI, IRS, or any
data collecting agency. It's policy at B-Hebrew for members posting to the list
to include their first and last name. We don't ask for any credit card details,
street addresses, or next of kin—just the name you use in public. It's a
courtesy to others to know with whom they are dealing.

PS – How do we know YOU are not working for the NSA?

Please remember, each post MUST be signed with your FIRST AND LAST NAMES. This

We also encourage you to add any institutional affiliation you have and/or your
geographical location, but that's optional.

We thank you for your cooperation.

This has been a community service announcement.

I wonder whether you are paid by the NSA to help them collect

personal data and opinions of list members...

(Ok, this is a little provocation but anyway I think that

it's perfectly legitimate to wish not to reveal the real

names in public email lists...)
