Actually, since you mention it, yes :). My nfs transfers to my server also stall, with the syslog message "nfs: server 10.0.0.1 not responding, still trying" (... but mounting the nfs folder with the "hard" option helps, since it retries in the background, I think.)
And I remember wget transfers from my server's http often used to fail on large file transfers.
