I am curious, both would allow me to use the custom version of babeld, but what about ip rules support? I did not find clear examples/docs pointing to how rules and tables are offloaded to either vpp or silicon.
`ip rule` manipulates the Linux kernel routing table; those changes and configurations are not carried forward or supported in VPP. There's a few equivalents in VPP for policy based routing, called ABF (ACL Based Forwarding).
