I definitely agree with you, but such a syntax is a necessary evil to plug babel into OpenWrt's UCI system (hopefully yielding one day to a nice GUI allowing your grand'ma to configure Babel). I am open to any suggestion to improve the current format. If you have any idea, please let us discuss them on this list or openwrt-devel. By the way, the same holds for ahcpd (while I am proud of the client mode, I still think there is room for improvement in the server mode configuration).
