It looks like you miss PKG_SOURCE_SUBDIR, as explained in:
https://dev.openwrt.org/changeset/23615
Add for instance:
PKG_SOURCE_SUBDIR=$(PACKAGE_NAME)-darcs
(Note that, for some reason, you did not forget it when setting up the
git package.)
