Hi, As some of you are aware, the IETF Homenet working group [1] is currently trying to decide on a routing protocol for Homenet routers. The current contenders are Matthieu's source-specific branch of Babel and an autoconfiguring, source-specific variant of IS-IS.
[1] https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc7368 It would be good if there were a source-specific version of OSPF to compare against, but unfortunately the likelihood of having a working implementation before the Dallas IETF in March is pretty low. Margaret Wasserman, Christian Hopps and myself have done some work to document the differences between Babel and the source-specific variant of IS-IS [2]. The document is far from perfect, but I think it can serve as a useful basis for dicussion. [2] https://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-mrw-homenet-rtg-comparison Discussion of this document will happen on the Homenet mailing list [3] in the next days. Please do not send your comments before the document is officially announced there (which should happen today or tomorrow). [3] https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/homenet I'll be sending my own comments there in the next days. Happy reading, -- Juliusz _______________________________________________ Babel-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/babel-users
