Dear All,

About 22 people plan to attend dinner now, so our turn out looks great there. Several others have indicated that you plan to come to the talks, which is great. Directions to campus below.

I have received inquiries about whether it's still possible to RSVP for the talk itself, without dinner. This is an open event, in a big room. I have spread the word in the campus community and the local community, so I don't know how large the turnout will be, but attendance is not restricted to us.

So please feel free to postpone your decision to come as long as you want if you are aren't planning to come to dinner! Just for my record keeping of participation, I would appreciate it if you could send me a mail if you are planning to attend the talks, but not dinner. But you don't have to.

So far I have nine people coming for talks, but not dinner. Several from Davis and several from Berkeley. There are probably car pool possibilities, and if you need any help, let me know.

Please note that there will be no beverages served at the talks this time, due to it being an open meeting. There is a coke and snack machine in Darwin Hall.

take care, Nathan

at Sonoma State University, Darwin Hall 102

                         Education and Outreach about Evolution

Evolutionary biology is a growing discipline and the importance of evolutionary principles has been recognized among biologists working in diverse areas. Evolution has also gained attention in the popular press through the writings of evolutionists and other biologists. Nevertheless, many education and outreach programs do not give evolutionary principles much attention. In this discussion, we will hear from four groups who are working to remedy this situation through education and outreach programs focused specifically on evolutionary principles and concepts.
