Hi: The response to your question by a post was half right and still HIS ANSWER to your question is ONLY ABOUT THE REGULAR SEASON. The pre-season broadcasts (except for a VERY FEW BROADCASTS THAT ARE DONE BY THE OVER-THE-AIR NETWORKS) are done by local stations. Even though there was a 'digital-to-analog switch' (except for a very, very small amount of stations in rual areas of the country) by OVER-THE-AIR STATIONS (these are stations that can be received by a TV antenna of some type and size), their is NOT A MANDATE ON STATIONS GETTING OR SENDING THEIR SIGNALS BY SATELLITE TO BE ONLY BY DIGITAL SIGNALS. These stations CAN (if they dedide it is still cost effective by the stations management) send their backhaul or "pure feed" signal back to them by an analog transmission. However, if they decide to send a High Definition broadcast back to the station, then it will ALWAYS be by means of a DIGITAL SIGNAL. But a good amount (not every station, though) of the games have BOTH SIGNALS sent back for people who have HD TV's and those who don't, even with the digital-to-analog switch to make it more easy for other stations outside of the main broadcast station doing the game to send the game to their area customers. With this said, there is still a GOOD chance that games on this year's pre-season will be in ANALOG (but this is still an unknown if the station will continue what they did in the past; they could go all digital).
I have received information that at least one game tommorrow WILL HAVE AN ANALOG SIGNAL: The Patriots at the Eagles game with the Philadephia broadcast. It is reported to be on Galaxy 3(G3 designator if you have a 4DTV C-Band Sat receiver) Tr., or channel 21. You can check at between 6:00-7:00 pm EDT to see if this information is correct (as is sometimes the case if can be incorrect). You can also check the Cowboy-Raider game as for the last 5 years the Cowboy Broadcast has also been in analog and last year was found on AMC 4(W4 for 4DTV) either 2 channels above or below the PBS National Channel. If not there then try scanning Galaxy 3(G3), Galaxy 25(T5), or Galaxy 16(G4). You can also find a LOT MORE GAME LOCATIONS at thisweb site(beside the one your at now. A lot of people that used to post at this backhaul wedsite are now there because the mail feauture for posting locations is more reliable than with Yahoo!; and you will not be bothered by people sending hatful e-mail with threats of scrambling the signal because of posting to a "public forum"): http://rickcaylor.websitetoolbox.com/ About a 1000 people have signed up to post at this site(but you don't have to sign-up unless you want to; it is for free and you can go there just to READ the postings by other people and get information on digital receivers to view the digital broadcasts that are here now or comming in the future. A LOT OF INFORMAION IS AT THIS SITE. Have fun, Glynn
