Surely the issue is more to do with the purpose to which any download is put.

Personal enjoyment is one thing, 'educational use' in its broadest sense is usually deemed to be OK.. even if the material is presented to your 'public' i.e. a class, but *not* if it's re-broadcast by you, or played out to an open field at the local church fete!

Chris,

I have been watching this list and couldn't agree more. If you look at most peoples worlds they have to break some copyright just to get something new off the ground. If the BBC is interested in this code then I would think that they would be more than thankful that someone has taken the time to write it, after all this does the same thing:

As the music business proves, the copyright laws are in need of a complete rewrite, they should
not stop innovation.
It is ones terms of use and actual usage of a product that determines whether it breaks the law or not. In this case it would take two seconds to change any wording and become legit.

Sorry, I hate to see the fear factor determine what can be done:)

Regards
Richard

Not exactly helpful feedback is it?

Ave; your script is almost certainly breaking copyright - the Listen Again service is time limited (media available for 7-14 days after initial transmission then it gets removed I believe) as are all services like it to my knowledge - I would remove the project from SourceForge and explore licensing issues.

C.
