Hi,

Not sure if this is appropriate for the list, but ... I have developed a
tool for accessing the BBC's "Listen Again" service, so that I can
download programmes and convert them to MP3s. This is a perl app with a
CLI and a perl/Tk GUI, and is available under GPL at:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/bbc2mp3/

Mainly, I wanted to get some feedback on what you though of this, but
also wanted to find out if I could make use of any backstage-type info
about "Listen Again". At the moment I am "screen-scraping" info about
programmes, so if this were available as a feed that would be great.
Maybe "Listen Again" links could be incorporated into listings feeds?
Also, would like to know what the BBC attitiude to this sort of thing
is. I know that there are limited MP3 download / podcast trials going
on, but presumably there are reasons (licence issues?) why this is not
done across all the output.

See you in court.

Tom.

Ok. Time to 'fess up.

Tom Loosemore did not send the above message, I did.

I spoofed his email address in the crudest way possible. Check the headers if you don't believe me.

it was intended as a gag, and one that I fessed up to almost immediately.

Unfortunately, my earlier confession got eaten by the mailing list server, because I sent it from my real (stefan at whitelabel.org) address, not the one with which I'm actually subscribed to this list, which is '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'

Since the majordomo (stupidly, although may not as stupid as me) swallows messages from non-subscribed addresses, rather than bouncing them, I didn't notice.

Tom is great. Ave is great. I'm a dumbass.

calm down everybody.
