As far as I remember the Norfolk broads are not tidal, there are very strange effects around the Isle of Wight though - which also caused some problems for the Spanish Armada. There is the myth that these tides are caused by the Isle of Wight - the effect is caused by the following...
The English Channel tides can be (simply) modeled on a long basin of water - tip it one way and the tide is high at Dover amd low at Lands End, tip it the other way and the tides are inverted. However this is only a simple model and the Channel is narrow at one end and wide at the other - thus when the 'tip' is made or the tides flow, then irregular waves are generated which cause the turbulent tidal effects in the middle, this is felt especially around the Isle of Wight and also on the French side around Normandy/ Channel Islands etc. The Solent around Southampton/Isle of Wight is renowned for its saling because the peculiar tides there provide additional high tides allowing better sailing conditions. Poole harbour has an even more amusing tide that is effected by the Isle of Wight I believe.
