Cheapest way is through a PC with a satellite decoder card - but you need a high spec PC.
I've been watching BBCHD on my PC (Core2Duo E6600 - 30%cpu usage) for the past few months with the following see SkyStar2 Satellite PCI Card - £45 (inc tax+postage) from http://www.dvbshop.net/ in Germany Powerdvd 7 inc patches or CoreAVC to use the codec (best use trail first to see which is best for you) http://www.cyberlink.com DVBViewer v3.5+ http://www.dvbviewer.com Couple of things to be aware of:- 1 - The BBCHD trail channel on satellite is only guaranteed till May this year - nothing yet on an extension to the trial (just hints Re:Wimbledon in June) 2 - If BBCHD trail channel changes to DVB-S2 spec then your need to buy a card that supports this - these are currently alot more expensive Dave ----- Original Message ----- From: Dave Ruislip To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, February 12, 2007 4:51 PM Subject: [backstage] BBCHD Free to Air and SKY (non SKY+) I cannot seem to get any clarity of my desire to get BBC HD via a traditional (non SKY+) Dish WITHOUT having to go SKYHD Box. There has been mention of Pace Box but someone mentioned there would need to be LNB changes?. Can anyone advise the simple approach. Also something in the region of max 100 pounds seems worth investment. Any advise.
