He might be referring to providers used by a large number of non-technical, 
non-geeky users. 

I suspect people who use the following services - which are all OpenIDs fall 
into that category:
   * Livejournal
   * Technorati
   * Wordpress.com

;-)

Only a matter of time before you can use a facebook public profile as an Open 
ID as well. (at which point 1/2 the BBC instantly have an OpenID amongst many 
many others :)
