I saw a really nice, nifty little widget for social bookmarking on this site: http://foxattacks.com/iran Avoiding the content and topic of this site (which I happen to agree with, anyway), scroll down past the YouTube vid and - see the little maroon Digg-like icon? Click it. Not only does it add another +1 vote (a "pssst" I suppose) it then gives you the links to bookmark with the most popular sites, as well as email it and add it to your facebook. I've not tried them, but they must work, and I think it's a very nifty idea. It's like five or six bookmarklets condensed! But unfortunately from what I can tell it's a bespoke solution... I'd love to have something like that available to use, it's really handy.

Whether we're in the majority or not Jason, is another matter - looking at the comments on The Editor's blog, it's been a favourable introduction with some. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/theeditors/2007/08/the_sociable_web.html#comments anchor Reading them also meant I saw http://www.shareicons.com/ for the first time as well (I'm probably very out of touch!) _____ From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jason Cartwright Sent: 23 August 2007 17:50 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [backstage] Tags du jour Most (all?) of these sites have bookmarklet functionality. Pretty harsh to ban that. I bet these buttons aren't used by 99% or more of the people that visit the pages. I don't think the average visitor cares. You only have to look at the del.ico.us homepage to see that the most bookmarked stuff is all about web dev URLs. Surely anyone with any interest in these services has a toolbar button or other browser function to carry out this task? How else would you add URLs that don't have these buttons? Waste of space.
