Subject: [backstage] Streaming iPlayer age guidance

Hi all

I was thinking of trying to code a little something in Java. Basically screen
scrape iPlayer and determine URL for RTMP stream (while awaiting a simple way
to do RTMP streaming, I know people are working on it so kudos.).

Anyway long story short, I loaded the page for Torchwood and got a popup thing
asking me to confirm I was over 16 as Torchwood contained violence. Where does
iPlayer find the 16 age limit? I can see where it got the guidance message
quite clearly, just not the age. Anyone here know?

Also I am almost certain there was an XML meta file stored somewhere that
corresponded to each programme and now I can't find it. Any help?

You can rely on me to break the silence.
(also can you arrange for that episode of Torchwood to be left there
permanently, if I ever get anything working (and the number of half finished
projects living on my hard drive suggests that's unlikely) I shall need
something to test on.).

Now all I have to do is improve my Java skills, hmm I *knew* there was a flaw
in this plan.
