I haven't heard any more from TfL, but I have just stumbled across
this: http://code.google.com/transit/spec/transit_feed_specification.html

It's a specification for a 'Transit' (public transport) feed,
including routes, stops, services, etc.

Google is using it to add public transport information to Google Maps,
but some transport agencies (well, 3: Portland TriMet, SF Bay Area
BART, Dallas DART) have made their feeds public.

Would be great if TfL (or any UK agencies) could do the same!
