Aren't License flame wars fun? ;p FWIW I personally prefer BSD\MIT style licenses as I consider them to be more free than the GPL in that they allow anyone to play with your code in any way they like without forcing your own choice of license on them. However I've already had that discussion on this list, and don't want to go there again. I still have the scorch marks. I also have issues with the restrictive nature of parts of GPLv3 (and I'm not alone in this), so if you're going to use a the GPL, I'd suggest GPL 2, if it's good enough for Linux, it's good enough for me.
