Here is an idea the BBC may be interested in exploring. This is a project in
progress, therefore, there are likely to be somerough edges. Here goes,

FameBoost <http://www.fameboost.com/> is a social networking application
service provider who sources traffic (unique visitors) and at the same time
measure and present individuals popularity. The major purpose is to create
an "Alexa-index" for the individuals and to deliver traffic to the
individuals profile or blog.

You can checkout the most famous individual in your social network, and you
can also add fameboost to your own app. The current supported social network
platforms are Hi5, Myspace, friendster and sportnik.

Fameboost is an OpenSocial app so more platforms will be added in time. Here
is an example on Hi5, http://smbale.hi5.com

Now for the best part.....

During the latest week we have finally agreed a deal with Fremantle Media
and the biggest TV-channel in Sweden (www.Tv4.se). The cooperation concerned
with the *Swedish Pop Idol 2008* competition which is the most popular
TV-program in Sweden with over six million viewers.

The idea with the cooperation is that FameBoost shall generate traffic to
each of the Idols blogs at TV4.se with some help from the FameBooster users!
The FameBoost users select their favorite idol and advertise him/her on
facebook, hi5, myspace etc... The FameBoost user collects "marketing" points
for each unique visitors he or she generates to the Idols blog. The users
with the most "marketing" points each week win tickets to the big final in
the large globe arena in Stockholm! The FameBoost Idol competition will
start on Monday 13th Sept 2008 according to the plan...

You could create an account and test the beta version at the following

Your feedback will be highly appreciated.

Thanks
