Yes, this appears to be a bug. The CGI editor should force the host name to lower case when it copies the config file. BackupPC does force the host names to lower case when it reads the host file, because host names in DNS and WinXX are not case sensitive. (For example, looking up the netbios name with nmblookup returns an upper case name.)
